US home sales are tanking: industry leaders weigh in on what’s next. NAR expects existing home sales to fall 15.2 percent in 2022, to 5.19 million units, while new home sales are projected to decline by 20.9 percent. In 2023, Yun foresees a slower price appreciation* and corresponding increases in sales as the year progresses. With current rates teetering in the mid-6% range, many experts believe the seller’s market will continue in the near future.
