  • Elon Musk creates new artificial intelligence company X.AI.  Mr. Musk is the only listed director of the company, and Jared Birchall, the director of Mr. Musk’s family office, is its secretary, according to the filing. X.AI has authorized the sale of 100 million shares* for the privately held company. As part of his AI ambitions, Mr. Musk has spent the past few months recruiting researchers with the goal of creating a rival effort to OpenAI.

  • Musk’s SpaceX gets US approval to launch Starship rocket. SpaceX received US government approval to launch its next-generation Starship rocket, a key milestone in the company’s quest* to send humans to the moon and eventually Mars. The Federal Aviation Administration granted the license to the company on Friday, allowing it to launch the rocket from its Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas.
